Celebrating 19th May

The past year had been a year of activity and rest, contemplation as well as celebration. There were birthdays, religious and cultural holidays, Mother’s Day and of course our wedding anniversary.

So on this 19th day of May that marks the end and beginning of a new year of marriage (goodbye 12th hello 13th!) we found ourselves at Monologue again. This time round I made sure I took more photos of the interior we so like to inspire our remodeling projectremodeling projectremodeling project (I obviously need to housekeep my Pinterest boards :s) back in Singapore.

Monologue Again

And we had, clockwise from top left, the 1) & 2) Monologue Croissant Breakfast Set 3) Monologue Omelette Breakfast Set and 4) Eggs Benedict with Capsicum Hollandaise.

Lighting fixtures, leather sofas, wooden stools, coffee-brewing paraphernalia and framed posters pulled together a look that is casual yet sharp.

As I was devouring my meal, it hit me that for one who’s never imagined herself married at all in her youth, it seems pretty much miraculous that I am happily settled into wedded bliss and challenges with a mini us who delights, infuriates, touches, frustrates and tickles myself and his father till no end.

Michelle Obama was quoted in a story that went viral that should she have married this other childhood sweetheart of hers, America would have gotten a different president. I’m a big fan of America’s First Couple and was amused when I read the anecdote making its rounds in cyberspace. That lady has formidable biceps, impeccable taste and a keen sense of humour 🙂

As 19 May 2013 crosses crossed into 20 May 2013, I pray for us to continue to love, understand and nurture one another into the persons we have the potential to be and may we stand strong in the face of adversity that life throws our way. Ameen.

Happy 12th Anniversary, dearest.
